Registered business/ commercial establishments in the city consists a total of 4,104 (Table 52).This figure has increased by 39.92% percent compared to the previous year’s data of 2,933 business establishments.

To date, Commercial Buildings as well as industrial sites are developed and constructed at the Central Business District (CBD) and at the agro-industrial zone of the city, respectively which indicates a good development.

As a proof of active business climate, the city has a complete array of business establishments, which shows that San Jose is a center for business, not only for its local clients but for neighboring towns as well. The biggest chunk of businesses comes from the retailing and merchandising sector. Moreover, the city is now gearing for business expansion as a result of better exchanges of goods and capital. Industrialization is confined at the southeastern side of the city proper along the road going to Llanera wherein existing rice mills line up and serve as catchment basin of palay products from Llanera and Rizal aside from the huge palay production in the eastern side of the city. Aside from rice mills, some poultry farms are also situated in this side of the city while the others are located on some barangays.
