The Local Government Unit, through a resolution by the Local School Board headed by City Mayor Kokoy Salvador, has allocated more than 20 million pesos to fund the Division Office’s needs for blended learning that will be the norm in the coming school year, scheduled to start on August 24.

The said amount will cover IT & communications equipment, learning materials, office equipment, wages and maintenance expenses that will be needed for the School Year 2020-2021.

Blending learning is divided into three modes to suit the capability of students, taking into account their financial capacity: online learning will be for students who have internet access at home; modular learning will use printed materials to be distributed to students who do not have access to the internet; and offline learning, which will use digital materials stored in USBs.

The Department of Education has earlier announced that no face-to-face classes will be conducted in the coming school year, or until a vaccine for COVID-19 is available.
