A. Police Services
With the exception of some crime incidents reported, the city’s peace and order situation during the year was generally normal. On criminality during the year 2015 (Table 52), the City PNP reported 281 crime incidents. Moreover, 136 crimes were solved, a number of 145 cases were unsolved, reflecting a crime solution efficiency of more than eighty six (48.40%) percent. Index crimes committed involved crimes against person (murder, homicide, frustrated murder, frustrated homicide, physical injury); Crimes against women/ children (rape); Crimes against property (theft, robbery, carnapping).

Maintaining peace and order in the community is the responsibility of the city police force and is headed by a Chief of Police commanding 107 policemen or a ratio of one policeman for every 1,323 persons (1:1,323).
Peace and Order in the city and in the barangays particularly is also being safeguarded by the Barangay Tanods of each 38 barangays manned by average of 15 Barangay Tanod per barangay Orderly traffic is being guarded by Traffic Aides aside from police personnels assigned in each designated area.
B. Fire Protection Services
The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) assigned sixteen (16) firemen in San Jose City. The Bureau of Fire Protection has three (3) fire trucks which cover up the five (5) fire incidents in 2015. The succeeding tables 38 & 39 show the fire incidents by nature/classification, number of casualties and cost of damage relative to number of personnel and facilities available.
